SEE NYC STARTED AS A LOVE LETTER TO New York CITY.

We believe that New York City is special because of the people that live here — those that choose to raise their families, build their careers, start companies, launch new campaigns, make policy, and more. See NYC was designed for New Yorkers who, not-so-long into the future, will be shaping the city across industries and boroughs in big and small ways.

What started as a love letter to New York has evolved into a community of New Yorkers on a mission to improve the future of the city. See NYC was dreamt up and designed by Breakout and The David Prize. It is produced by Breakout and fiscally sponsored by Gotham Gives.

See NYC has three goals:

  1. Strengthen trust among New York leaders. Big things happen when people work together, and in order to work together, we need to know each other. See NYC aspires to seed new relationships that pay dividends for NYC in the short and long term.

  2. Expand aperture of what's fundable in NYC. Funding ideas that improve New York's future requires looking outside of existing networks, learning from new perspectives, and rethinking what 'risk' means. See NYC aims to help funders do just that.

  3. Spotlight the genius of New York. Perception is reality, and we think New York's reputation leaves the people who make it so special out of the narrative. See NYC spotlights people and ideas that deserve more shine, positioning New York as a global beacon for place-based innovation and impact.
