AM Choose Your Own Adventure

Participants will choose from one of five immersive experiences across the city. Set out on a harbor boat excursion with the Billion Oyster Project to explore their efforts restoring NYC’s marine ecosystems. Step into the surreal world of The Brooklyn Pop, an immersive installation of 3,000 works by 80s graffiti legend Kaves. In Sunset Park, engage with Mixteca and Uprose for a community-centered experience rooted in immigrant rights and environmental justice. At Women Building Up, take a behind-the-scenes tour and connect with women-led groups reshaping NYC’s infrastructure. Or, visit one of Urban Assembly's schools in downtown Brooklyn and hear from CEO David Adams about their innovative approach to public education.

PM Choose your own adventure

Choose from five unique, place-based adventures across the city. In Bed-Stuy, join a youth-led workshop with YVote to explore what it means to be a changemaker, guided by students driving civic action at and beyond the ballot box. In Bushwick, tour the new Brooklyn Roots Collaborative and participate in a hands-on session with Oko Farms leaders Yemi Amu and Jess Carroll, celebrating sustainability and the full journey of a plant—from harvest to sip to compost. In Brownsville, see community-led public safety in action with the Brownsville Safety Alliance, reimagining what safety looks like from the ground up. Head to Queens for a guided experience at Socrates Sculpture Park, where public art, community history, and waterfront views converge—including exclusive access to works by Mark di Suvero. And also in Queens, we’ll explore one of the Department of Cultural Affairs’ most cherished programs, Materials for the Arts!

Participants will choose from one of five immersive experiences rooted in Bronx-based creativity, culture, and community power. At The Point’s Riverside Campus for Arts & the Environment, meet local leaders and artist Eric Orr—creator of Rappin’ Max Robot, Hip Hop’s first comic book—and visit Rocking the Boat, where youth build boats and environmental justice solutions. Join Live From the Bronx for a one-of-a-kind Hip Hop Therapy and wellness session. Step inside the Andrew Freedman Home for an open house with artists, tech innovators, and youth leaders—featuring everything from robotics to NYC’s only youth-designed escape room. Or, head outdoors with the Bronx River Alliance to learn how they’re protecting and restoring the borough’s vital greenway, one community partnership at a time.

PM Choose Your Own Adventure

Participants will choose from one of three experiences rooted in Harlem’s cultural and civic landscape. Go behind the scenes at the legendary National Black Theatre with Executive Artistic Director Jonathan McCrory, a Tony Award-winning and Emmy-nominated producer, for a guided tour and conversation on legacy, storytelling, and creative space-making. Join a housing and community roundtable featuring NYCHA CEO Lisa Bova-Hiatt and other local leaders (TBA) for an honest dialogue on public housing, equity, and neighborhood transformation. Or, get hands-on with Artistic Noise—a Harlem-based organization uplifting court-involved and system-impacted youth—through a creative workshop that centers healing, self-expression, and collective care.
